Poha Dosa / Atukula Dosa

Rice – 3 cups

Thick/Thin Poha – 1 cup

Minapappu – 1/2 cup

Saggubiyyam – 2 spoons

Soak Rice, minapappu, sago for 6-8 hrs.

Soak poha for around one hour in water.

Now grind all these ingredients together into batter.

You can ferment the same and make dosas next day.


Pesarattu / Green Gram dosa

Pesalu/ whole Green gram  – 2 cups

Rice — hand full

Ginger — small pice

Green chillies — 2-3

Jeera -1 tbsp

Salt – to taste



Soak Pesalu along with handful of rice in water for 6-8 hrs.

Grind it after draining water along with chopped ginger, chopped green chillies, jeera.

Add required salt to the grinded paste and make it a semi-think batter.

Please note that batter should not be made thin for pesarattu.

Take a non-stick pan , pour the batter into dosa . Add required oil and fry it on both sides until it becomes golden color.


Hot pesarattu will be ready and serve with ginger chutney(allam pachadi) which is an excellent combo.



Ravva Dosa

Rice Flour – 1 cup

Sooji (bomai ravva) – 1 cup

Maida – 1/2 cup

onion – 1 medium sized (finely chopped)

Green chillies – 3 slit

Ginger – small piece ( ginely chopped)

Jeera – 1 tbspoon

Salt – to taste


Mix sooji, rice flour, maida into a fine thin paste mixing with water. Please note tht it should be very diluted and thin. Only then dosa can be crispier.

Now add chopped onions, ginger, green chilli, jeera, salt to it.

Heat a pan and pour this mixture . Do not move/mix with laddle on pan ..You need to just pout the thin batter in dosa shape.

Add oil and fry it well on both sides.


Serve this with ginger chutney which is a good combintatin for the same.


Healthy Dosa

Today i would like to share a healthy dosa receipe which i tried today and my kids liked it a lot.

Ingredients :

Oats -2 cups
Ragi powder – 1 cup
Bombai rava – 1 cup
Onions – 1
Green chillies -2
Jeera – 1/2 spoon
salt – to taste.

1. first grind the oats into fine powder.
2. Now add ragi powder, bombai ravva to oats powder. Make it to a thin paste by adding enugh water.
Now add finely chopped onions, chillies, jeera and salt to the batter.
3. Take a pan and pour the batter as dosa . Fry it with required oil.
4. Healthy dosa is ready to serve with desired chutney.
